Spring 2016 Baseball Registration Now Open
We are pleased to announce registration for our 2016 Spring Baseball season. Online registration for Piedmont residents opens on Sunday, November 8th.
Please read ALL instructions before registering. Our Spring Season runs from early March (February for Bronco and Pony) through early June. For more information about the season, and the commitment required for each age group, please read the PBSF Division Descriptions on the PBSF website. Due to high demand and limited field space, Piedmont residency or enrollment in a PUSD school or a Piedmont-based school is required for baseball. Players from outside Piedmont, who have played for PBSF in past years, can register during the Open Waitlisting period.
PIEDMONT ONLY REGISTRATION: Sunday, November 7th–Sunday, November 15th. Piedmont residency or enrollment in a PUSD school or Piedmont-based school is required. Residents should register during this window to secure a space. Spots fill on a first-come, first served basis. Waitlisting occurs when enrollment in any age group approaches capacity. Non-resident and non-Piedmont school registrations received during this time will be canceled by our registrar, and a $25 fee will be assessed.
OPEN WAITLISTING: Monday, November 16th–Sunday, November 24th. All families (Piedmont and non-Piedmont residents) registering at this time will be waitlisted. Payment is due in order for a child to be placed on the waitlist; a full refund will be issued if we are not able to offer you a spot. We give priority to Piedmont residents and returning PBSF players and coaches when accepting players off the waitlist. We also consider the registration date for choosing new players off the list. After registration has closed and our capacity is reviewed, we will notify you by email if we can offer your child a spot.
CANCELLATION POLICY
In order to receive a refund, families must cancel a registration by January 15, 2016. The amount refunded will equal the registration fee paid, less a $25 refund processing fee. After January 15th, PBSF will not issue refunds for the Spring season.
PARENT INFORMATION NIGHT: Thursday, November 18th at the Piedmont High School Library. Note the new location. Please join us for an informational session about the Spring 2015 baseball season. Division commissioners will be outlining their plans for the upcoming season, and parents will have an opportunity to ask questions. Parents of all age groups are welcome. The meeting will be divided into several sessions:
6:30-7:00 Shetland
7:00-7:30- Pinto
7:30-8:00- Mustang
8:00-8:30- Bronco and Pony
MANDATORY PLAYER EVALUATIONS: We do not evaluate Shetland players; all other registrants must attend. Evaluations are typically the first weekend in December. Times and locations of evaluations vary by division and will be announced by email to registered players. Evaluations are very important as they allow us to place players in the appropriate divisions and build balanced teams within each division. Evaluations are not used to cut players.
The player’s age on April 30, 2016 determines the player’s division for the Spring 2016 season. All players must register in their age-appropriate division following age guidelines established by USA Baseball, the governing body for amateur baseball, and Pony Baseball, of which PBSF is a member.
